AMAZING! Just got back from hols, and really enjoyed karaoke at The Little Waster Pub. I recommend anyone who visits Malta should pop down to Francis' bar in Qawra as they have an unlimited choice of songs and a really friendly atmosphere. Next stop: China.

The Pipa 08/08/2010

The Pipa is a four-stringed Chinese instrument that first appeared in the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BCE) and was further developed during the Han Dynasty. It's one of the most popular instruments in China and has been played for over 2000 years.

Tuning the Pipa is similar to tuning the guitar but with only four strings as opposed to six ... A, D, E, A. This means the chords are shaped differently as well.

Watched a film the other night called 'Lars and the real girl', really interesting concept. It made me think about the relationship between community and creativity. I'll not spoil the story but if you watch it then think about how the people around Lars facilitate his delusion in order to help him overcome a deep rooted problem from his childhood. This can easily be related to creativity, e.g. a person who is in an environment that has a positive attitude towards freedom of expression can do much more than a person who is discouraged or ridiculed for their creativity.
